“Life is a great big canvas, and you should throw all the paint on it you can.” -Danny Kaye
Hi fellow art lovers!
My name is Karen, and I am so very excited to share my art journey with you. My love for creating has fueled me for as long as I can remember. I often take the quote above to heart by painting, splattering, and glueing on absolutely anything I can. I have hand painted walls, doors, furniture, old pieces of wood, and much, much more! I wish to spread joy in everything I make. My favorite part about my creative process is starting the day with no plan whatsoever and making something that I love.
My art journey has been filled with ups and downs, including many health issues. This hasn’t stopped me, but it sure has tested my resilience. I have learned to be flexible, take it in waves, push myself when I can, and rest when I need to. Most of all, I have learned that focusing on the greatness in life makes all the difference, and a huge part of that, for me, is making art and my family the center.
My family is hilarious, creative, and so much fun. My husband, Greg, is a lawyer and an amazing writer. Sam, my oldest baby, is a photographer, jewelry and macrame creator, and artist. Maddie, my youngest, is a children’s book author, illustrator, video and photo editor. My dad, Bill, is a jack of all trades and often makes me custom frames and tables. As a family, we can do anything! We always laugh when we’re together, and the love we have for each other is (as my sweet youngest grandson always says) neverending!
